For those coming to Boardman (suburb of Youngstown), here is a list of links of places to stay, and area attractions.
Do a search of hotels in Boardman-Poland, Ohio and you'll find the following, which are recommended:
Holiday Inn, South Ave. It's very nice, with a pool, fitness center. Located in walking distance from several restaurants, and with a movie theater behind it, is probably the top place to stay.
Best Western, Residence Inn, and Hampton Inn are recent, updated, close by and also near several restaurants, Starbucks, Dunkin, etc. You are free to do your own search.
THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF PLACES TO EAT IN BOARDMAN!!!
There are typical neighborhood bar and grille restaurants (O'Charley's, Longhorn, Outback, etc.) brewhouse’s (BJ’s, PourHouse, Barrel 33, Vintage Estate, and many more) as well as Vietnamese/Chinese/Japanese fusion eateries, privately owned moderate to upscale local restaurants (Springfield Grille, Michael Alberini’s, Nicolinni’s, Magic Tree, Café Capri), pizza and more fast food and sub shops than anyone needs.
A few "healthy" eateries are also around.
Youngstown has a wonderful art museum (Butler Art), world-class entertainment center at the Covelli Center, a magnificent metro park , and several wonderful golf courses including two 18-hole courses at Mill Creek Metro park (Both designed by the legendary Donald Ross), a championship golf course at Kennsington, which also has a modern hotel on it's property, and Reserve Run, in addition to others within 30 minutes drive.
In addition, Youngstown has a modernly reimagined and reinvented, vibrant downtown scene with trendy restaurants, taverns, and hang-outs for people of all ages.
It is also the home of the brand new amphitheater, with national acts and regional entertainers.
